17 Months

Today, our little love turned 17 months old.

Every day is a new adventure full of discovery, love, and getting into trouble.  But each moment is worth at least a thousand words, thoughts, and lots and lots of love and hugs.

Here is list of some of her recent activities:
  • Elizabeth is learning to use spoons and forks...and getting really good at it.  Sometimes, she just wants to gnaw on it though....thank goodness they are hard plastic.
  • We have had our share of bumps, bruises, busted lips, and scratched up leg this month.  I guess that comes with the territory of being a toddler.  No permanent damage.  :)
  • Elizabeth is getting really good at giving hugs prompted and un-prompted.  She even tries to hug Raider.  Sadly, Raider will not stand still for them.
  • Elizabeth is a true animal lover.  Whenever she sees an animal--dog, cat, or bunny, she gets excited and starts waving at it with delight.
  • She has a morning routine of getting ready.  Every morning when we change out of the PJs, she sits in my lap to get dressed for the day.  She is even picking her shoes up and showing me where they go.
  • Elizabeth is still not very verbal with her words.  We feel very confident that they will come very soon though.  She seems to understand what we are saying without a problem.
  • Elizabeth knows that when it is time to eat, she goes to her high chair and is even trying to figure out how to get in it.
  • We have started buying Elizabeth 24 Month/2T shirts and dresses.  She has such a long torso, all of her 18 month shirts are starting to look like crop tops and her dresses, way to mini for Mommy's taste. She is still wearing 18 month bottoms though.  We have moved up to a size 6 shoe too.  She is growing so fast.
  • Swim lessons have come to an end for the year.  Elizabeth likes the water, but was rather bored this last session.  We are hoping to resume them again next spring.
  • Elizabeth had another cousin born this past month.  I'm sure she will be sharing all of her tips to little Madison just as soon as she can!

Stuffing our mouth full of bread and being a little girl in the backseat of Daddy's car!

It's so fun for me to compare our babies and see how different they are in some ways - Livi is teeny weeny (she was off the charts small at her 12mo appot) and still in shoe size 3 and barely getting into 18 month clothes. One of these days we need to get them side by side and see how they play together!
